Metropolis is a publishing group that specialises in consumer, business and travel publishing and are well known for magazines such as Record Collector and their 'For Less' travel guides and needed an online presence to support the business expansion.

Solution

Connections created a new web presence for three of the consumer magazines in the Metropolis portfolio: Record Collector, Book & Magazine Collector and Family History Monthly.

The websites enhance the online profile of the each magazine and deliver a range of ordering and management services that drive new customers and help Metropolis save valuable time on subscription management and advert entry.

Each magazine site is driven by a commerce system that enables customers to order and pay for new subscriptions, search and order back issues from the archive and place adverts.

Connections developed a membership based advertising system that enables magazine customers to manage and purchase their magazine listings and classified adverts online. The system makes it easy for customers to place their adverts and enables Metropolis to import them into the publishing software without re-typing.

The sites also contains a complete management system that enables Metropolis to review customer orders, manage subscribers, add new issues and download adverts for import into the printed magazines.
